Demographic Transformation in Southern Libya During the Period 2011–2025

This scientific paper aims to analyze the demographic changes that southern Libya witnessed during the period (2011–2025), in light of the political, security and economic transformations that Libya experienced after 2011.
This study employs a descriptive-analytical approach, utilizing secondary population data from national and international institutions and analyzing indicators of migration, internal displacement, age structure, and geographical distribution of the population.
The paper concludes that southern Libya has experienced a clear demographic imbalance as a result of the interplay of factors including armed conflict, underdevelopment, and irregular migration flows, leading to profound social, economic, and security consequences.
The study concludes with a set of recommendations that can contribute to supporting population planning and sustainable development policies
